Hi,

When you get to the US, you must look up Home Goods stores. I love them for home decor. They do have small furniture items too, such as smaller dressers, end tables, and coffee tables. They also have lighting, mirrors, and rugs. Check out their webpage, homegoods.com. Happy decorating.

I second Home Goods! I lived in South Orange, NJ (Northern NJ) for a while and there was a Home Goods nearby. I loved it!

I forgot to add that this store is a discount store with super low prices and a great selection for every taste. They have items for every room in the house. They do not sell online but be sure to check out a store when you land in the US.

Home Goods is great, and it's owned by the same company that owns TJ Maxx and Marshall, both of which purchase mid-level designer clothes and sell them inexpensively. As a college student, I also use places like Ollie's and Big Lots--definitely hit-or-miss, but there is tons of home stuff in both. I'm also a huge fan of repurposing things I find at consignment shops; a lot of times, all things need are a fresh coat of paint to have a new life!
