BFSC Weekly Summary 5

Yay! Another Big Fat Summer Challenge weekly wrap up! ;)
In this weekly summary we see lots fabulous ladies rocking the short shorts, cropped tops and showing off their arms in sleeveless and strapless tops, to only name a few.
Hope you enjoy, it's always a pleasure to do these weekly summaries even though they take forever, it's a pleasure. I love all your combos, colors and styles! It's always a huge inspiration to see you girls experimenting and showing off more skin this hot hot summer. I know there's been heat waves in the majority of the U.S. I've been sweating myself and worked on my "summer glow"-tan. ;P
Also, I can announce that the winner will be chosen through an open voting poll. I just can't choose the winner myself, I just can't! You are ALL too good! You are all really working it. So, all readers and followers can vote for their favorite participant. At the end of the challenge, the ones that has completed all the challenge outfits will be eligible for voting and in the running to win the BFSC prize.
As the voting beings after the Challenge is over the 31st of July there will of course be a wrap up post of all the participants challenge outfits and the voting poll so it will be easier to vote for the ones you think rocked it the best ;)
I can also announce that the prize will be a $50 gift card at a clothing store, I haven't decided which one yet but it will be paid by me. (My gift to you)

ALSO! I can announce that there will be a collaboration with Miss Peggy from On the Q train. The plan is to meet up in the city and showcase all the outfits from the BFSC, 10 fabulous ladies showcasing each and every challenge outfit. We are going to be looking for girls to join us, but more details on that later ;) it's really exciting! And a great idea by Peggy!
So just keep that in mind if you live around the area of NYC and want to join the BFSC showcase "photo shoot". :D So stay tuned for more information about that later on...

Thanks for reading and following!
XOXO

Why is Taylor Brione is this challenge again? She's really pretty and I love her style but she is in no way plus size! I mean, look at her! That can't be more than size 12 at the most...

Hi you, it's funny that you commented this because I've been sort of expecting it. This challenge isn't ONLY for plus size women. This challenge is to push us outside of our comfort zone, to experiment with fashion and to show more skin this summer, no matter what size you are you can have body issues or insecurities, and I think Taylor's first post when joining the challenge really explains it well. http://www.taylorbrione.com/2012/06/big-fat-summer-challenge-bodycon.html

So I'm not gonna discriminate against anyone's size if they would love to join the BFSC. :) the more the merrier. Ever BODY is welcome. ;)it's the meaning behind it that matters, to push ourselves and feel confident in our bodies, no matter what size.

Very well said Jennifer!! No need to leave people out because of their size. It's all about being comfortable with you.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again... I LOVE these wrap ups!! Thank you so much for taking out to the time to do them! You are the BOMB (I'm not sure if people still say that)!! =D

Thanks Jennifer! It has been such a great experience participating in this challenge. I usually stick with certain outfits that I know that I feel comfortable in, but this has been such a way to experiment with fashion and improve body image! I'm so jealous that I'm not in NYC, because that showcase would be such a cool experience! I know the ladies who participate are gonna love it! :)

Oh, okay, thank you for the explanation. I just assumed it was for big women, considering it's called big fat summer challenge.
Still, love this challenge and I think the cause is great!

I totally understand. I took the name from a a summer challenge "Return to sender" had a couple of years back, inspired by it I re-opened it again for this summer and changed it around a little and added current trends like Hi Lo and cropped top :)
To be honest, I never thought it was gonna get this huge and the positive response is overwhelming, and people just piled in wanting to join the challenge and that really made me happy, the support is amazing! :)
Thank you! <3

Totally feel you, I was lighter during my teen years and even around the beginning of my 20's when I was like more then 40 pounds lighter then now I had more body insecurities THEN! compared to now...being the biggest I've ever been lol, it's a body acceptance journey. :) I wouldn't show my knees, because I thought they looked ugly, and I would always think about how much stomach looked when sitting down, i didn't like my rolls and I would suck my stomach in and feel SO uncomfortable, and I was like a size 8-10 then. and today I'm much more confident, and I'm a size 14-16.

I'm happy that you feel that you're body image has improved :) and that you're enjoying the challenge.

Just came home from Berlin. I checked this post out hours ago (litterally the first thing I did when I was back in Denmark), but I couldn't comment it until now.

I love these summaries and I love this challenge. Everyone is looking great - can't wait to see the next wrap up. I'm pretty sure Hamburg and Berlin will be featured. ;)
