Hej Lovelies!

Gazing at fabulous Hollywood stars in delectable designer dresses is a good way to inspire your own wardrobe revamp. Take in the endless swathes of gorgeous fabrics – silks, chiffons, velvets, taffeta – matched with glittering jewels and towering heels. It’s a feast for the eyes and great for providing fashion ideas. During film awards season, there’s a seemingly endless stream of events with red carpets to see fashion and film fans through till spring.
The Golden Globes is one of the many fancy film awards shows on offer, and 2013’s ceremony saw a flurry of bright colours. Perhaps the stars have been looking forward to spring too! Funny girl Zooey Deschanel matched her dress with both the red carpet and a Quality Street wrapper, showing up in a scarlet strapless Oscar de la Renta number with a retro sweetheart neckline and a full skirt. Red was also the colour of choice for rising star Jennifer Lawrence, while another awards favourite, Jessica Chastain, opted for a pale, sky blue Calvin Klein gown with a plunging neckline. Marion Cotillard looked almost edible in a sumptuous orange number, while Homeland star Claire Danes was a bright vision in pinky red by Versace.
Meanwhile, monochrome made an equally striking appearance. The stars of Les Misérables were particularly in favour, with Anne Hathaway and Amanda Seyfried choosing white gowns that had more than a little of the bridal about them. Similarly, J-Lo made an impression with a revealing white lace offering. Strangely, it was the black dresses that really stood out. Dame Helen Mirren showed off a stunning figure in a clingy Badgley Mischka number, while Kate Hudson was a knockout in black and gold by Alexander McQueen. Flattering and mysterious, black never really loses its innate glamour, especially when worn surrounded by primary colours.
