FFFWEEK: Indie Designer Showcase pt.2
Here comes another Full Figured Fashion Week recap of the Indie Designer Showcase that was held on Friday night...that was frikkin' AWESOME! It was so exciting to sit together with my Fashion Front girlies and admire all the designers clothes on the runway. We sat on the side of the runway right where the models stop to pose at the end, in result, all the nice profile photos ;) haha. But WOW, the lighting was great and they really made the clothes shine even brighter. Every color, texture, and cut got even more highlighted. I was super excited to see RUE 114's collection. It was by far my favorite out of them all!
I absolutely love colors, and I love how RUE 114 mixed the colors together, the contrast, and the color blocking created a fun and vibrant energy, it really popped on the runway! So unique, with it's African inspired patterns and prints. I loved it and admired every minute of it. The final piece, the long dress with colorful ruffles on plus model Liris Crosse was amazing! My absolute favorite piece because it was so unique and fresh! Which ones yours?
Followed after RUE 114 was Designer TruDiva, with a lot of brown shades the collection really gave me a 70's feel for some reason. Compared to RUE 114 that walked just before them it was like "night and day" nice contrast, I like how the producers set the up the lineup so that every collection could shine! TruDiva showcased a lot of jumpsuits that looked mad comfortable. Like a chic "onesie" for the curvy girl ;) Loved the peplum dress, by far my favorite piece out of that collection. What are your thoughts?
Rue 114 designer Serwah Asante received the Award for DESIGNER OF THE YEAR! Congratulations! :)
TruDiva/Sean Anthony Designs
Next up was Sean Anthony Designs, loved their ready to wear looks, it was everyday chic. Pieces that looked easy to wear, and I'm all about that! What I really loved hem most was their choice of different fabrics, it looked luxurious. And they used a lot of different chic prints and textures. I need that black (faux) furr jacket in my life, imagine for fall! A must have! ;) Also, like how some of the models wore black beanie's, it gave me the "hipster" feel, made me think of my brother.
After Sean Anthony Designs, the Australian designer Huudaverti took the runway, created by three super chic sister. Not only did I love the style of the collection but also their personal styles. It was just so effortless and unique. I really admire people that just "miss-match" clothes and accessories and make it work, I looooove that! Like, I want to be able to do that and just own it! So inspiring!
Their collection was fun! Lots of different styles, lots of eye catching pieces like the black fringe dress, love how they paired it with the colored polka dot tights. It was definitely interesting.
Which collection/designer is your favorite?
Until next time ;)
